Hi everyone,

Looking to come to BKK in the near future to visit family and learn Thai. I'm wanting to apply for an ED visa and have a couple questions.

Are there any recommendations for language schools? And does anyone know if the ED visas are still being approved during COVID?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about applying for an ED visa to learn Thai in Bangkok and sought recommendations for language schools, as well as information on the current approval status of ED visas during COVID. Community responses highlighted 'Duke Language School' in Bangkok as a top choice for language learning, outlining their programs that facilitate obtaining an ED visa. Another user confirmed their recent successful application for an ED visa, emphasizing the necessity of school acceptance and additional requirements such as COVID insurance.

Yes, I just recently got an ED Visa as I am studying here in Bangkok. However, you have to be accepted into the school before you can apply I believe. It wasn't too hard to get it but it took awhile and a lot of documentation. Plus you need covid insurance now as well and have to prove documentation of that. I am currently learning Thai at Chulalongkorn University. It's not a language school but the professor is very good. Good luck!! :)

I don't. I pay my home institution in the US for the classes I take here as I am an exchange student.. but I'm sure if you look up Chula University you could find the cost per credit. The courses are 3 credits each.

Hands down the best thai language school in Bangkok and possibly all of thailand is DLS (Duke Language School, 3rd floor Trendy Building Sukhumvit Soi 13). They have the most up to date, modern text books, and do have programs available that will let you get an in country 90 day ED visa and then get extensions to stay in thailand up to a year.
