Hi everyone !

I come here to ask about the topic because I can read a lot of different things online.

I want to register to a thai language school in Bangkok in order to apply for a ED visa, preferably for a year.

I would appreciate recommandations regarding some good language schools in Bangkok for a fair price.

I would like the classes to be good quality since I’m really interested in learning thai, it’s not only for the visa.

Also, if anyone could give me an average price for a year of classes…

And, the school gives the documents required by the immigration and then I have to go there by myself, right ?

Once the payment is made and the documents are provided, is it sure that the immigration will approve ? Or is there a risk that I pay the school and lose my money ?

Thank you for anyone that will take the time to read and answer !

I studied for 4 months at
@RTL-S*****
and was at a conversational level. I then used the skills I learned there and became fluent in a year.

It's a great school and they have both private and group classes 5 days week. They help you with the ED visa if you study for a year.

Duke Language School is top notch. They have their prices on their website so you can get an idea, and they offer discount for multiple months if paying up front.

You can read the reviews to get more information, but you really can't not learn thai there, it's very thorough.

Royce is also super responsive to any questions you might have if you email them, and they have multiple front desk staff that speak a variety of languages to assist with anything.

They will give you all the documents you need and you'll take them to immigration. As long your school has a good reputation, there shouldn't be any issues. If the school believes you're not taking your learning seriously, they will not provide you with the documentation for your extensions (must extend every 90 days), because they don't want to hurt their reputation and you'll likely be quizzed some basic questions in Thai when you go for extension, plus at some point there is a Ministry of Education exam.

do you recommend universities Ed visas over private schools?

@Sal *******
a university ED will be a 1 year long extension and can be extended until the end of your program.

A language school ED will be 90 days at a time as can only last up to one year.

Duke is considered one of the best schools. I attended ALA. The school will help you get the visa, processes vary through. If you go to a good school and have never used an ED or any problems with immigration in the past, I am sure you will be approved for the visa with no worries.
