Anyone know the best (and affordable) school in Bangkok so I can go to learn Thai and get a 1 year ED visa?

I have an agent charging 55k for it, but I actually want to learn and do it legit.

Answer summary

The conversation discusses recommendations for language schools in Bangkok that offer Thai language courses and provide the option to obtain a 1-year ED visa. Duke Language School is frequently mentioned as a top choice, noted for its excellent teachers and classes. ALA Language School is also highlighted, with some attendees favoring it for its in-class options. There are considerations regarding visa validity, with users indicating that while a 1-year ED visa can be obtained from private institutions like Duke and ALA, further enrollment in government university courses may be necessary for longer stays.

To add on, I was told that we could only get max one year ED visa from a private institution...and afterwards will need to enrol into government university courses if still keen to be under student visa.

Appreciate any input on the above info. I am definitely keen to stay longer than just one year, but none of the current visa suits my situation. 😅

Thank you. 🙏

just because you want to stay doesn't mean you can. Same goes for every country in the world except your own.
