Thanks for the comment regarding my question asking about International Driving Permits. I went to the Licensing Centre near Big C, Chiang Mai and was told I would need a 'Certificate of Residence' for the Permit and one for my license to be corrected, I have a new passport so the number is incorrect on license. My next problem is which Immigration form do I use, for Certificate of Residence? I have found 3 up to now TM 18, TM 20 and one with no number. Any help would be useful I can of course just go and ask but if I can download the correct one so much the better.

Thanks in advance

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking information on which Immigration form to use for obtaining a Certificate of Residence in Thailand for their International Driving Permit. They mention needing the Certificate for both the Permit and to correct their driving license, which has an incorrect passport number. They have encountered three forms (TM 18, TM 20, and another without a number) and ask for guidance on the correct form, expressing a preference for downloadable resources. Comments from other users suggest using TM18 in Jomtien/Pattaya and highlighting documentation required in Phuket.

I’ll let others confirm with regard to CM, but in Phuket there is no form to fill out. You need a filed TM30, a passport photo, a copy of your passport, entry stamp and visa (if you have one). Sign all copies.

is it possible that he has to go the his embassy and get that certificate?

Atleast for other nationalities, like me, we had that form from the Embassy and not at the Immigration.

But the TM30 is correct too, it is a report for residency. Maybe just make sure what type of form they need. Maybe ask for a sample.

a residence certificate can be obtained from immigration or your embassy (if they do those)

yup! I understand, because based on my experience with my driver's license DLT requested a residence certificate from my embassy and not the TM30. But yeah, welcome to Thailand.
