Hello, I was wondering if anyone has had delays receiving the Residency Certificate? I went to Immigration on 29th March and I still haven't received it in the post. The process is currently that we pay 10b for a stamp addressed envelope which I did but I didn't get given a ticket or any form of receipt. I need to receive it as soon as possible. Thank you in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is experiencing delays in receiving their Residency Certificate, applied for on March 29th, and expresses concern over the lack of receipt for the stamp addressed envelope. Comments from the community reveal varied experiences with processing times, with some suggesting a quicker pickup option for a fee at various immigration offices. There are mixed responses regarding the validity of the certificate, with confusion over it being 30 days versus 12 months as stated on the immigration website. The user later updates that their certificate was sent out after two months but has not yet arrived.

Yeah update so they actually sent it out on 20th May (around 2 months after I went - which they did say to be fair) but it hasn't arrived at my apartment. It wasn't sent as tracked, grrr, so it's hard to know what happened to it!

In Pattaya if you arrive in the morning you can pick it up after 14:00 same day. Residency Certificate is only valid for 30 days

David Broadfoot my original post said for 30 days. See what happens if your certificate is over 30 days. For me it is not worth going back and forth with you. Ask immigration yourself.

David Broadfoot Just google Certificate of Residency Thailand. Go down the page and you will see what other people have asked for There you will see how long it is valid
David *********
David Broadfoot That is exactly what I thought. But if you google Certificate of Residency on the Immigration site it says 12 months.

I didn’t know it is only valid for a month. I’m required to get the certificate of residence to get the drivers license.

I am not sure how I thought is was one month. On the Immigration website it says it is valid for 12 months. It may have been the agency that is requiring it wants it issued within the last 30 days.

wanna say what office you actually used out of the 70+ immigration offices or you just want us to stumble around with half assed answers?

Chiang Mai, my apologies for missing that off

ahhh Chiang Mai is FAMOUS for jerking you around to give you an 'incentive' to use one of the agencies who charge 500-1000baht to get the certificate the same day

You are not alone in your plight. Go back to the immigration office and ask them about it and see what they say, THEN go across the street to the agency and pay them the 500 baht I think it is so they can get a certificate of residence for you in a day.

I went to MTT in Bkk for Certificate of Residency at the end of April. 200b. Received it in the post 2 weeks later.

can I get the Certificate of Residence while being on 60 day Covid extension stamp?

. I can't answer that.

Most offices will give it to u on the spot if u pay them 300-500 baht.

Of course no receipt given.

Don't wanna get into the moral drama of whether u should/shouldn't etc etc...

I usually just pay cuz my time is worth more than that and can't be bothered trying to change Thailand's ways.

Yeah I thought that was the case, however, I have waited patiently thinking it would arrive at my apartment as they said it would come on the 26th. It's not that I was stingy, just thought I had gone about it the 'morally correct' way. As you say, it seems I'll end up having to pay.
