Another #reentry question.

Retirement Visa holder.

EDIT:

Flying CNX to BKK, then BKK to USA. CNX BKK flights not connected.

Can/should I get my re-entry permit in CNX, or at Suvarnabumi?

BTW, I found the posts on how to do this in Suvarnabumi, thanks.

What's the cost of the permit? Do I need to bring photos, proof of residence, anything else?

TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about obtaining a re-entry permit for their Retirement Visa as they plan to travel from Chiang Mai to Bangkok and then to the USA, with a specific question on where to secure the permit (Chiang Mai or Suvarnabhumi Airport) and details on the necessary documents and costs. Comments provide insights suggesting that it's easier to obtain the permit in Bangkok, noting the costs (1,000 THB for a single re-entry permit) and advising on the documents required (passport, visa copies, TM30, potential for photos on-site), while also sharing experiences of getting the permit in Chiang Mai.

You have to do it in Bangkok because you will be in the domestic area in Chiang Mai. Don't worry, it is easy.

That’s depends on your ticket if those are connecting tickets or not

FWIW I got a re-entry permit at the new Central Festival immigration office in Chiang Mai just today and it was a piece of cake. Very friendly staff helped fill out the forms, 1000 baht and done in about 5 minutes. Would recommend!

Did you take ticket/flight info with you? TM 30? Or just passport?

No need for flight or ticket info. You'll need the usual copies of your visa, TM30, passport photo page (or they can do them there for you if you want, think it was 2 baht a copy) and a photo (again, think they can do that there but I took one).

Essentially if you just take your passport and ask for help, they'll be more than happy to do so. I can't stress enough how nice and helpful they were today.

Price is 1.000 Thb for Single Re-Entry Permit and 3.800 Thb for multiple entry permit.

There was a 200 Thb service charge for making pictures and copies in BKK.

My advice: Get them before you travel, better safe than sorry.

But I do not know if your flights are connected and booked both at check in in CNX and therefor no idea if you can get to the area and office in BKK.

I agree with Robert 100% I would definitely do this at immigration rather than waiting to pass through the airport if it goes wrong then you have a load of trouble
