Hello. Would like to seek advice from the experts here.

1. Currently on retirement visa and may get a work permit in the near future. What is the procedure and is there any problem if I choose to reapply for retirement visa again in future?

2. How do I apply for a dependent visa for my spouse?

Thank you very much.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently on a retirement visa and is considering obtaining a work permit in the future. They seek advice on the procedure for this transition and whether they can later revert to a retirement visa. Additionally, they inquire about applying for a dependent visa for their spouse. Experts clarify that one cannot just 'get a work permit' but needs a job offer, and they should apply for a Non-B visa after exiting the country or in-country with proper documentation. They also mention applying for a 90-day Non-O visa for the spouse and confirm that switching back to a retirement visa later is possible.

you don't 'get a work permit' ๐Ÿ˜• you get a job offer. ..

You exit the country to get off the 'retirement visa' you use documentation from your employer to apply for a new 90 day Non-B visa at the thai consulate in another country

OR

You exit the country to get off the 'retirement visa', come back in on a free entry stamp and use the documentation from your employer to apply for the Non-B visa IN COUNTRY at the immigration office where you live

Your spouse would apply for a 90 day Non-O visa based on trailing spouse..

You need to talk to your employer on how they do the process

No issue at all going back off the Non-B and on to another 'retirement visa' if you stop work

๐Ÿคฃ yes, get a job.

Thanks for the advice. So at least there are 2 ways to do it, not necessarily out of Thailand.

it will come down to whether your employer can meet the requirements inside the country to get the Non-B visa issued, (some can't meet the requirements because in country they are much more stringent than at the thai consulate in another country)

Check with them and see what they advise
