Hi, hoping someone can help me as there's too many posts to navigate here 😓. As a U.S. citizen currently in Thailand, I'm wondering where the best embassy to apply for the DTV visa would be?

Also, for the financial requirements, I've read a lot different answers on this but will the embassies require 6 months of bank statements or just the latest? My plan was to transfer the 500k baht to my bank account just to apply for this visa but I'm afraid this will not suffice? 

Any guidance is much appreciated! 🙏🙏🙏

Hcmc 6 months bank statement. I've seen many people get approved with the funds being in their account for just a few days prior to application. I think by giving them 6 months bank statement, with the most recent one having 500k proves that you've had that bank account for a while and not only just opened for this purpose.

I recommend Hanoi Vietnam. HCMC asked for extra documents from me twice, extra bank statements and proof of employment. It took 2 weeks. I heard Hanoi is faster

Read the website of the Thai Embassy you will apply at for the requirements of that Embassy.

For a U.S citizen the best place to apply is in the U.S., then the Embassy will know the documents that are common in U.S, and there will be less risk of getting documents rejected.

And the Thai Embassy in U.S. is better motivated to help U.S. citizen than other nationalities.

And you can wait in your home until the DTV is granted, and don’t have to pay for hotel etc. in a 3. country for weeks
