Is it better to provide bank statements from a Thai bank account or an international account when applying for the DTV visa?

When applying for the DTV visa, it does not seem to make a difference whether you provide bank statements from a Thai bank account or an international account. However, it has been noted that having around 500,000 THB in a Thai bank account is preferable, especially since some embassies may inflate currency exchange rates, making higher amounts necessary if using foreign accounts.
