When applying for the DTV is it "better" to provide bank statements with the minimum amount from a Thai bank account or from abroad? I have both. Planning to apply via HCMC online.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for the DTV visa, it generally makes no difference whether you provide bank statements from a Thai bank account or from abroad. However, some users prefer having the required funds (minimum 500,000 baht) in a Thai bank account due to potential issues with exchange rates at embassies, where a higher equivalent amount might be necessary. Additionally, money in a Thai bank could raise questions about its origin.

It should make no difference, but money in a Thai bank can raise questions where the money is coming from.

Makes no difference but I’d prefer 500k baht in Thai bank. M

Some embassies inflate the exchange rate where you might need like 550k-600k baht equivalent in euros for example
