Can I stay in Thailand for 6 months on a Tourist TR visa without leaving the country every 60 days?

I post again.

I applied DTV Visa for Workcation in Tokyo embassy. And my visa was approved but my visa type was Tourist TR visa for 6 months

I think Tokyo embassy is very strict so you should not apply in Tokyo.

And I want to ask someone

Can I stay in Thailand for this period without immigration with this tourist visa ? or do I have to leave Thailand in every 60 days ?

Please someone tell me 🙇

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user applied for a DTV Visa (workcation) at the Tokyo embassy, but received a Tourist TR visa instead, valid for 6 months. They inquire about the rules regarding the length of stay, specifically whether they can remain in Thailand for the entire duration without leaving every 60 days or if they need to exit and re-enter Thailand to extend their stay. Responses indicate that with planning, it is possible to extend the tourist visa multiple times (60 days initially, then extend for 30 days, and possibly do border runs). There are varying opinions on the legality of working in Thailand while holding a tourist visa.

Wich way do u use ? SOFT POWER ? remote worker ?

They give you the visa they see fit for your stay in Thailand. Nothing much you can do. Use the duration of your tourist visa for now and fly to a neighboring country once it used up apply for DTV again.

I wanted to ask, What’s your nationality ?

If you apply for DTV it is either approved or denied. Then you must apply again or for another visa. Embassy cannot issue another visa as they like.

Anonymous participant 255 show me a copy of the email they sent you when they denied your DTV and gave you another visa

You get stamped in for 60 days every time you enter and can extend this once by 30 days

Use it well and planning well you can have almost 9 months with it

If you ask how..

Get 60 when you arrive then extend it 30 then leave and back get 60 then extend it 30

Then 10 days before the ( 30 expire)

Make a border Bounce and come ( still your 6 months TR visa , not over legally get new 60 then extend 30 ) 😊

Interesting as it is actually illegal for you to work in Thailand even if it's for remote company and being paid in another country so the tourist visa is only for tourist leisure reasons....

@Jo***
DTV is also a tourist visa. There were no changes made to work permit regulations for the DTV, and it also comes stamped "Employment Prohibited". The legislation establishing DTV even says if the recipient wants to "work in Thailand" they need to change visa type. All this indicates they don't consider remote work "work in Thailand".

A simple Google search will tell you about it is illegal.

This is why the DTV visa was created to make it legal...

Now generally the consensus is as long as you don't talk about it don't do it openly and you're not paid in Thailand and your employer is another country... You might be under the radar...

DTV just has exactly the same remark about working prohibited, an extra indication Thai government does not see remote working as working in Thailand.

I understand a law firm has its own interest s in telling people they need a work permit.
