TLDR : Answer Summary
After obtaining a Non O visa in Thailand, you can apply for a long stay visa based on retirement during the last 45 days of your current stay if you're at certain immigration offices. However, other offices may allow applications as early as 30 days before the Non O visa expires. It's essential to confirm the specific rules at the immigration office you plan to visit.

On entry in Thailand using this Non Immigrant O visa you got a new stamp with the text: Admitted until xx/xx/xx.

At some Immigration Offices you can apply for an Extension of Stay based on being over 50 years of age during the last 45 days (other offices 30 days) of that period of stay.

In Chiang Mai when you have 45 days or less left on your current stamp you can apply for a new extension as long as you meet the requirements
