What was your experience applying for a DTV visa in Thailand amidst recent rejections?
After reading some of the recent rejections in Hanoi, we definitely considered alternative destinations, but decided to go ahead anyway as it’s a solid application.
Application was submitted May 4 for DTV- Soft Power, Medical. Medical treatment plan for one year from Wattanaphat Hospital, Koh Samui. 500k in bank account x 3 full months. Hanoi seemed clear about this requirement. Although, i believe we have seen approvals here on this page without. We decided not to risk it or give opportunity for rejection.
Status went to pending approval within 4 hours. Then no change at all until this morning, no further documentation requested. Approved 18 May exactly 2 week after submission. No other questions asked.
Has a long history of visa-exempt entries and exemptions. But caused no issues. And Vietnam is fantastic location for getaway vacation anyway

That’s exactly the way to look at it. Go for a holiday to be enjoyed and apply for a visa along the way. If get approved it’s like the icing on the cake!

You only reading rejections because negatives much easier to notice and pay attention to. There are far more people that do get approved, they just never share because there's no reason to. I got approved at Hanoi back in December through soft power. No issues. Took like a week.

obviously. And yet, there are not enough reports of the approvals for people to make a fair assessment. Thus, some of us will help the situation. While others are too lazy to bother reporting their approvals.

any kind of medical treatment. Just have your physician write up a one year treatment plan.

for what purpose of the DTV visa are you applying for?Workcation or Soft Power Activity?

Thanks for your question.Yes the two streams seem different in nature. Obviously the Workcation stream states proof of income but the Soft Poeer stream seems to only ask for 500,000 THB for

it’s not actually for me, for her. Yes, while in Philippines, the money was not yet at 3 months. So couldn’t apply there.

That's what you should do... print it out.
You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.
Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.
