What are the best practices for applying for a DTV visa in Thailand?
DTV Approved Today! Workcation - Remote employee with 4 months salary slips and 6 months bank statements ( additionally asked) only last 3 months balance was maintained above 500k+ and before that 3 months was less than 500k THB, but i was in Thailand during December - January on tourist visa so i explained them everything in cover letter about my sabbatical and showed them photo of me went to EDC phuket.

Submitted these addition doc - 19th june
Pending approval - 22nd june
Approval - 23rd june
Make your cover letter very professional, clear and mention what you think would make your case strong. I couldn't show proof of work as such because i do consulting and have no physical screenshots & also, not allowed to share critical info about the client. Mention all of this in your cover letter. show some extra proofs as well if you can like any photo or give explanation of an event happened or anything you think is suitable or have an impact in making your case strong.
for eg - i added one of my thai friend's rent contract front page only and her photo id card of company she works in.

Depends on the embassy. Thai embassy in London makes you tick a box agreeing you will remain in your country until there is a clear decision on the DTV. If not, your application is voided.
Other countries' embassies dgaf and you could travel on a tourist visa on Thursday, then activate your dependent' DTVs after you get the good news.
That would involve doing at least a same-day border bounce, to activate the new visa, but it would be cheaper than buying new plane tickets.

GrayWallaby8130 Why? They can enter visa exempt then, after their DTVs are approved and before their 60 days is up, leave for a family weekend away somewhere and use the DTVs to re-enter.

Graham Seal it is clearly stated that once you apply for the visa you are not allowed to enter Thailand and you should remain in the location where you applied. Even tough some did it, by entering Thailand during your application process you can get your vis cancelled. I am surprised you didn’t know that
