It doesn't necessarily need to be provided to you, It just has to be filed and in the system under your name and passport.

Your landlord is legally obligated to file a tm30 within 24 hours of you moving into the property. If they are refusing it sounds rather dodgy and they are likely trying to avoid the tax on the rental income. I've needed a copy of my tm30 on every visa extention so far.

Ask your landlord if he will give you a copy (photo) of his blue book and IC so you can file the tm30 yourself.. if it's done online you can avoid the fine for late registration.. but he (or you) will need a tm47 account in landlords name to do the filing.. since you need to upload his docs to establish the account.. after that you can access it and do the filing on his behalf.. with permission of course.. and attend to it each time you travel and need to re-register.. without ever involving him again.. if he won't do this it suggests he is hiding something a tad illegal.. maybe he doesn't own the property and is subletting without permission.. and therefore doesn't have his name in the blue book.. and doesn't want to alert the real owner to it.. you should check the person presenting themselves as the property owner and who collects your rent is the bone fide owner before entering into a rental agreement to avoid this.. they want copies of your national ID and / or passport etc before accepting you as a tenant.. if they won't show you their ID and their blue book in return then don't accept them as your Landlord.. they may not be who they say they are!?

Well, either their breaking the law by not doing the required reporting on foreigners stay at their property, or they are just too lazy to click the "export to .PDF" button when the filing is completed (the latest version of the system literally presents the filer with a dialogue box asking if they want an export of the report just filed).

they likely aren’t paying taxes on the rental income. I would just stay in a cheap hotel for the night personally.

There are OVER 80 immigration offices in the country. Whether you need a TM30 receipt or not when you apply for the extension is office specific. ..

More and more offices are requiring that you have proof you're staying in an area served by that office (TM30 receipt).

Remember at most offices (other than Jomtien/Samui) you can apply for an extension when you have 30 days or less left on your stamp, so no need to run your stamp down because you don't lose time applying early

All you can do is go to your office and ask them.

There are reports of people who have needed one to get their extension actually checking into a hotel for one day to get the TM30 went and got the extension

your landlord BY LAW is required to register a guest or tenant in the TM30 system. Tell your landlord that he is violating a law, and that you are going to report him to Immigration if he does not comply

There are gracious, polite, and, yes, passive aggressive, ways to describe to your landlord your confusion over the instructions and information you're receiving from several other sources directing you to obtain the TM.30 from him/her, and could they help you to understand the correct source for your TM.30 so you can respond to the officials who are telling you this? 😆 If nothing else, you'll gain some insight into their thoughts and circumstances for future reference.

the landlord knows this. Maybe that works, but not a good plan if you prefer to rent there another month or plan to return and rent next year.

they fined my wife at immigration for not doing a tm30 after an over night stay for hospital appointment in the city. They really need to figure out a better system. The system is not designed for regular retirees that want to travel. I would be annoyed if I was owner and getting text to ask every week for a new tm30. I rather just pay the fine for a while year. Priceless for not dealing with immigration

you keep repeating this. Check into a hotel and get one and figure out what to do for the next one. They’re legally obliged to do it for you.
