Hi I just wanted to share my experience obtaining the DTV. I applied from Hanoi, Vietnam on 03/21 and used the soft power option, using a cooking school. I submitted the following documents:

- My Vietnam airbnb receipt

- Confirmation letter from the thai cooking school

- Proof of accommodation and flight to Thailand

- A PDF containing 6 months worth of bank statements combined with my offer letter from my US employer. Youre not required to submit an offer letter and i think they only wanted 3 months of bank statements but i wanted to demonstrate that i had sufficient income and that i do not have a thai employer. My boss is also fully aware that im in thailand and supports it

I was asked on 03/24 to submit my Vietnam entry stamp and business registration letter from the cooking school. My status immediately changed to pending approval

Officially approved on sunday 03/31.

When I arrived at BKK airport, all I did was show my DTV visa on my phone and I got my stamp. No questions asked.

The whole process was smooth and straightforward.

Congrats on your visa and thank you for sharing this information. I’m wondering will you need to continue the cooking program for the duration of the visa?

NIce, congratulations. Thanks for the details. How long is the duration of the DTV? Do you have a certain number of months before you have to leave, a certain amount of time you have to be out of the country...anything like that?

the visa is valid for 5 years and you get a 6 month stamp every time. So you leave every 6 months, you can get it extended though but I’m not sure about that process tho.

everything is vaque when you don’t know.

For example on this group, it’s several people who should not giving advice. And so many who giving very good advices.

When you read the forum every day you can see it!

People are normally too lazy to check the official website, before they start ask questions here.

I admire all of you who take your time to answer peoples questions !

Yes, ok. I have looked at it before and it was very vague about details. It wasn't even sure if it would work for medical treatment, for example, and has only been recently that people have received them. Even someone that got the medical treatment DTV said that it was so new they weren't sure about all the details, either. And asking questions is exactly what FB groups are for, so no need to police other people, as I didn't even address you. Cheers!

@Jennifer *******
you asked a question which I was happy to answer

DTV is over 6 months old and the details are very specific not at all vague

What is variable is what happens when you apply and that is different for everyone as each embassy acts differently and even that is not consistent

And apologies for bothering to explain all of that for you 🙏

Perhaps it's your perfunctory writing style and it wasn't meant as dismissive like so many comments on FB...'Just Google it' or the likes. I do apologize if that wasn't your intention.
