TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks guidance on the implications of being denied entry to Thailand under section 12(2) due to lack of appropriate means of living, specifically regarding the ability to apply for a DTV visa immediately after the denial. Community comments provide insights, clarifying that reapplication is possible, though it's important to ensure meeting the DTV requirements, such as having sufficient funds.
Yes it was non DTV entry. Said I had “been trying to live there” , too many entry’s etc etc but did ask if I had money on me …. which I didn’t and no return ticket !
It was a horrible experience. !

No idea why you were denied entry, but remember that a visa doesn’t guarantee entry; it only justifies a longer stay, not a red-carpet welcome. You could face the exact same issue even with a visa.

If you had no appropriate means of living and denied, what means of living will you show for your DTV?

DTV_BegPecker 12(2) is pretty frequently used if immigration decides you have spent too long in Thailand as a tourist as they’ll ask to see that you have

baht (or equivalent foreign currency) physically on you in cash and if you don’t have that they’ll deny entry. No ATM, no bank statements, credit cards. Has to be cash (or travellers cheques if you happen to have one).

DTV_BegPecker soft power and yes I have the fee.
I need to leave in my account for another 6 weeks and then should be able to apply Muay Thai which I have been doing for past 2years both in Phuket and at home . I have lots of evidence of this. I would not be just using it as a means to get in ( as I know some do) and hope to be able to teach it eventually back at home
