I would be grateful for some advice please.

My Thai wife of 14 years would like to visit our Thai family in November for four months with a visit to Vietnam, it is about 120 days we will be there for.

What is the correct visa to apply for, I have checked the Thai Embassy website but I am still unclear as I want to make sure I apply for the right visa. We are currently residing in the UK.

Thank you.

Steve.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Steve is seeking guidance on the correct visa for his Thai wife and himself to visit family in Thailand for four months, including a trip to Vietnam. A commenter clarifies that his wife, as a Thai citizen, only requires her Thai passport, while Steve can enter Thailand under visa exemption for 60 days. He also notes the need for a digital arrival card before entering Thailand and a visa for Vietnam.
Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)

WARNING: Only trust Thai government websites with .go.th domains or Thai agent websites with .co.th or .in.th domains, as these require verified Thai registration and cannot be registered anonymously.

The official TDAC form is available at tdac.immigration.go.th, which uses the official .go.th government domain.

The services by AGENTS CO., LTD. does NOT charge any fees for arrivals within 72 hours. If you need to book more than 72 hours in advance, there is a service fee of $8.

Do not trust other sites pretending to be a trustworthy agency. Pay attention to delivery time - the service operated by AGENTS CO., LTD. has 1 minute delivery time for arrivals within 72 hours.

Don't fall for sites pretending to be agents.co.th or the official government tdac.immigration.go.th website. Always double-check the exact domain in your browser.

Scam services may take days to process your application, others may not even do anything. With these TDAC scam services you also need to worry about double charges.

Please watch out for TDAC misinformation spread by fugitive Jesse Nickles and his many fake accounts on Quora, TripAdvisor, Reddit, and other platforms.

Steve you will need a digital arrival card which you can get online 3 days before entering Thailand (it’s free) lots of scams online trying to make you pay, find the free one , you will get 60’dsys to stay in the country. Then jump over to Vietnam before the 60’days is over . You will need a visa for Vietnam , that visa is $25 per person . Apply in advance for sure , you cannot fly to Vietnam without it, it takes about a week to recieve via email . Then go back into Thailand and finish your trip, remember you will need a new Digital arrival card every time you enter Thailand (the free one) so reapply 3 days before entering Thailand again when you renter you will be given another 60days .

Your Thai wife shouldn't need anything except her Thai passport.

If you're going as well (you don't make that clear) then you also shouldn't need any visa. Just go visa exempt and you'll receive 60 days permission to stay on arrival. Then go to Vietnam. Then when you return to Thailand you'll receive a new 60 day stamp.
