What is the best visa option for UK expats wanting to stay in Thailand for 90 days?
My partner and I want to go to Thailand for three months every year to follow the sun, previously we used the 60 day visa and then had a break in Vietnam for a few days and came back for another 30. This year we might lose the 60 day visa and travelling back and forward to Vietnam or other places is becoming expensive as we will still be renting our condo in Hua Hin. What would be a good visa for 90 days for UK expats. Thankyou

An agent told me 60 day Visa on Entry will be ending October 1st or 15th. After that is will be only 30 days with a 7 day extention. That seem to be getting quite strict. Best for you would be METV. Stay 2 months, leave and come back for another 1 or 2 months. Thats what I will be doing in November.

It's a 60 day Visa Exempt which will be turned back to 30 days (first extension will still be 30 days, second Entry extension will be 7 days in a calendar year). You can still get a 60 day Single Entry Tourist Visa and extend in country for an additional 30 days (1900 baht). METV gives the same as an SETV, only you don't have to apply every time and you get 6 months to enter as often as you wish, not just once.
Can leave on SETV, then reenter under Exemption, just be careful with timing.

The 60 days is not a visa it’s 60 days exemption on arrival soon to change to 30 day you can get a 30 day extension at immigration but you can apply for a 60 day visa and extend for another 30 days at immigration…..

currently there's no difference but we are waiting for the official notification of the 60 day visa exempt entry (no visa) being reduced to 30 days and also being available to fewer nationalities. The 60 day tourist visa is not affected by the proposed changes.

Multi entry visa is best. You get 3 months then leave come back and get another 3 months, apply on line it’s about £60

Ralph Tyson You have to apply for 60 days on line to Thai embassy London. Then Thai immigration to extend there for 30 days. Safer if they go to 30 day on arrival before you get there.

I’m assuming you were in Thailand on visa exemption, not a visa. Now you could get a tourist visa for 60 days and have it extended another 30 days in the country.

Why would you lose the 60 day visa? They aren't changing visas so you can do the same this year and next etc. plus get 30 day extension in country for 1900 tbt.
