TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses visa options for a mother accompanying her 14-year-old daughter undergoing medical treatment in Thailand. Two main suggestions are highlighted: applying for an O visa which covers medical treatment along with other purposes, allowing a one-year stay; and applying for a DTV visa for both mother and daughter, contingent on a hospital letter stating the need for long-term care.
You can also apply for an O visa for medical treatment for you and /or family members. It's just another option. They have specific catagory that falls under " other" which covers medical treatment, volunteers, and sport. You can stay 1 year without having to leave.
I never had to go to immigration. The hospital took care of everything. I imagine it probably varies case by case

You should consider applying for the DTV visa for medical reasons — for both your own and your daughter’s long-term healthcare treatment. It’s better to get a letter from a hospital stating that the treatment is required over an extended period and that your daughter needs to be cared for by an elder, such as her mother. Once your DTV is approved, you can apply for your daughter as a dependent. Just a suggestion — hope everything is okay.

Anonymous participant 180 have you applied via medical? I receive long term treatment in Thailand, but not sure if it qualifies (I just have to go once every 3 months)

Anonymous participant 898 Hi I haven't been applied with medical. But if you have treatment records from hospital, it's very good for your application. You can attach appointment letter

Anonymous participant 180 I applied medical, I’m over 40 and exploring hormone therapy which is recommended to test every six months.
I was already in Thailand so did full blood work at the clinic and got a letter from them stating that I would have a follow up appointment to the blood work scheduled. They would not write anything about further treatment because in reality we weren’t that far in the process.
I wrote in the cover letter that the treatment is very important at my age and that I would need to monitor at least every six months to make sure all is on track. As well that I love Thailand and it’s the perfect place for me to explore these treatments and so on.
I applied in Jakarta and was approved within a week. This was in March.
