TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on the type of visa available for their 4-year-old child while they plan to stay in Thailand on a Non-Immigrant ED Visa. Discussion in the comments indicates that children under 12 may not require a visa if they attend an international school, and that they are not subject to penalties for overstaying. The conversation clarifies misconceptions about age requirements for Non-Immigrant ED Visas as they primarily apply to individual students aged 12 and older.

Technically anyone under 12 can get away without having a visa......tbey cant overstay...know many ppl who do nothing for their kids til they turn 12

No idea where you get the minimum age from. If they’re in an international school they can get an Ed visa. Under 14 they don’t really need a visa. They can’t be fined or blacklisted.

If not at a international school you may be able to get a “dependent” visa for them. Some offices will only do for year long visas/extensions.
