Hi I live in Koh Tao and got married to a Thai in the UK in 2023. I want to change from my non-o 90 day visa to a one year non-o visa.
Have been told by my visa agent that she doesn't know how to help me... 🙄so hopefully you guys can help me.
What do I need to do? I have read many threads and there is always contradictory advice so I am very lost.
Do I apply for the 'affirmation of marriage status' form on the UK gov website? That form is worded as if it is for unmarried persons and also asks what date and location I'm going to be married in, which makes me think that is the wrong form for someone who is already married. Don't want to pay £75 for the wrong form.
I have heard I need to get a "kor ror 22" and also certify my UK marriage certificate then get it translated but not sure how to go about it.
Can anyone please shine some light on what I need to do?
Thank you!
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, who is married to a Thai citizen, seeks guidance on changing their NON-O 90-day visa to a one-year NON-O visa and is confused about the necessary steps following their marriage in the UK. They inquire about the proper forms and procedures, specifically mentioning the 'affirmation of marriage status' from the UK government and whether it's applicable for their situation. Comments from other users suggest that the marriage certificate needs to be authenticated in the UK, translated into Thai, and then legalized at the Thai embassy, followed by multiple steps in Thailand, including registering the marriage with local authorities. There are various opinions and experiences shared in the comments, but no definitive answer provided.
