Hello, does anyone have any knowledge about obtaining a 1 year Family Visa Extension, please? I arrived in Thailand on 23rd March on a Non-Immigrant o Single entry 90 Day Visa.

I believe I need to obtain a Kor Ror 22 to be able to open a Thai Bank account and show 400k for 2 months before my application. I believe I need to get my marriage certificate and passport notarized at the British Embassy however I donโ€™t believe I can do this in Bangkok and should have done this in the UK (where we were married).

Iโ€™ve asked a few Thais who have been very friendly but given partial or confusing information so far. Have any of you done this and maybe can suggest how it worked out for you, please. I guess I am probably not the first one to have this kind of question. I wonder if we will need to go back to the UK to get the documents Notarized and start all over again. Thanks Jason

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking guidance on obtaining a 1-year Family Visa Extension after arriving in Thailand on a Non-Immigrant O visa. They are uncertain about the notarization process for their marriage certificate, believing it needs to be done in the UK rather than at the British Embassy in Bangkok. The thread includes insights from community members about the notarization process and the necessary documentation for the visa extension, particularly the Kor Ror 22 form.

IF you were married to your thai wife in the UK, there is NO WAY to get that marriage certificate stamped/certified OR anything by the UK embassy here in Bangkok.

You need to send it back to Milton Keynes and then it has to go to the Thai Embassy in London. That's the ONLY way you can get the correct stamps so that once you get it back you can get it translated, certified by the MFA and then go to the local amphur and register a thai got married abroad to get the Kor Ror 22

I copied this image from a translation shop a while ago (right after the UK embassy here stopped stamping marriage certificates for brits)
