Hi, my south korean friend has Non-B visa, work petmit and he has Re-entry stamp on his old passport. He went back to South Korea and he got his new passport there last month. When he re-entered to Thailand he showed both his old passport and new passport. He didn’t check the arrival stamp from the airport immigration until today. He just noticed that the airport immigration officer stamped the tourist visa for 90 days on new passport, not stamp the re-entry stamp as he should get because he has the re-entry on his old passport.
Should he go back to the airport immigration even though it already passed for a month?
Thank you
TLDR : Answer Summary
A South Korean expat entered Thailand with both an old passport containing a re-entry stamp and a new passport, but airport immigration mistakenly stamped a 90-day tourist visa on the new passport instead. This situation raises concerns about working legally in Thailand without the correct visa. It's advisable for the expat to correct the mistake by returning to the airport immigration soon, as any improper stamping is the individual's responsibility. It's important to check entry stamps immediately upon arrival to avoid such issues.
