I re-entered Thailand via BKK on my yearly extension of a Non-B visa about a week ago. After getting back home to Chiang Mai, I noticed that the official has written the wrong date on the "until.."-part of the entry stamp by a month.

Do I have any other options than returning to BKK airport to get the mistake corrected? Tried calling Suvarnabhumi immigration but nobody picks up the phone.

ps. Yes, lesson learned, always check your stamps immediately after receiving them.

TLDR : Answer Summary
If you've received an incorrect entry stamp date in Thailand, you can get it corrected at any immigration office if you entered by air, including the main immigration office in Chiang Mai. If you entered via land, you will have to go back to that border. It's advisable to immediately check stamps after receiving them to avoid any potential issues.

okay, for AIR ENTRY you can get the stamp corrected at any immigration office.

for LAND ENTRY you have to go back to that border to get the stamp corrected

GO to the main Chiang Mai Immigration office (by the airport) and get the stamp corrected.

Happens a LOT, you aren't the first foreigner to get stamped wrong, nor the first one to not check their stamp BEFORE they walk away from passport control when they get their passport back

@James Miller passport expires in January 2025, visa extension expires on 15th February 2024 and the entry stamp says Admitted 25 Aug 2023 Until 15 Dec 2024.

I'd say you don't need to fix anything if you leave the country before the 15th of Feb 2024 and re-enter (using a re-entry permit). Make sure to alert the officer to the mistake when you re-enter and ensure you get stamped in correctly. Caveat: this is my personal opinion, not based on anything other than common sense.

Alternatively, you could go back to Suvarnabhumi and have it corrected, as CM immigration would almost certainly be unable to do so.

Thanks, yeah this is my understanding as well.

What is the expiration date of your passport ?

What is the mistake you are seeing?

If in error, Ask your local Thai Immigration office. But you may need to return to the BKK Airport to get it corrected. Or do a Land BORDER BOUNCE if easiest, making sure you have a re-entry permit.
