#visaexemption #2passports

Hi everyone ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป

I have now a lot of visa exemption stamps (3 + an extension in the past 3 months - genuinely travelling around Asia!) but I hold 2 passports (French and Swiss). Do you think I should show my other (empty) passport to the IO when I come back to Thailand or is it better to get a proper tourist visa this time? Thanks ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster (OP) seeks advice on whether to show their unused second passport when re-entering Thailand after having many visa exemption stamps or to apply for a proper tourist visa. Community responses suggest that using a different passport may not change the outcome since fingerprints are used for identification. It is recommended to apply for a tourist visa if staying for an extended period and to always carry proof of funds, onward travel, and accommodation details when entering Thailand.

Immigration officer need your fingerprints before passing through Thai border. No matter how many passports you have, your in/out record has shown on the system clearly. I switch 2 passports in and out Thailand many time before but it's doesn't work right now.

you're skating on thin ice, get a visa or risk being turned back at the border

Remember even having a valid tourist visa in your passport is no guarantee that you'll get stamped IN to thailand.

All a visa does is guarantee that IF you're allowed in you get in for the number of days that visa provides.

I'd still have proof of funds, proof of onward travel and proof of confirmed lodging when stamping in just in case you're asked .

Showing a different passport might sound nice, but as your fingerprints did not change, it will match other used passports. It is always better to enter a country using a visa that fits your purpose of visit.

It doesn't cut any ice by showing another passport. You stamp in on one or the other. Believe me you're not the first foreigner here to hold passports from different countries.

IF you're comin' back and will be here for 60-90 days get a real tourist visa from a thai consulate BEFORE you wing your way here.
