Um, Anybody have experience with the Thai Consulate - Columbo Sri Lanka. I made an online appointment and will be there week after next. I goofed and misstated my nationality on the visa appointment. Anything I can do now? I am afraid that if I change the appointment there will be technical issues. I am think that if I try to cancel and set a new one there will be more issues.

Thoughts? Experiences?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice about an upcoming appointment at the Thai Consulate in Colombo, Sri Lanka, where they mistakenly stated their nationality on the visa application. They express concern about potential technical issues if they attempt to change or cancel the appointment. Community members suggest that this consulate isn't frequently visited and inquire about the specific visa type and nationality of the user.

That's not a popular consulate that a lot of people go to. What visa are you trying to get, and what is your nationality? I'm assuming you're American?

Very good question. I was certain I could - I have asked about it in the past - within this group. But after looking more closely at the requirements - I am becoming concerned. Their requirements are a little goofy though (Thai + English kinda goofy). Like they require my marriage certificate - but that is simply not applicable in my case (simple SETV).

I have sent them an e.mail asking them directly. cross my fingers, tripped is already booked.

why don’t you contact the consulate? Your question is about your appointment’s problem with them, I guess they’ll know better than ‘outsiders’.

I think you have to reapply for your appointment IF the info you provided is not correct.

I doubt it. I doubt most people use that consulate, but I do know it is difficult for people from that country to come to Thailand. You may be the first white person they seen for a very long time.

I guess - nobody has experience with the Consulate? Which was the original question?

Soy El Mono Then get an Elite visa, if you have the money. Otherwise, it seems like your time may be up here in Thailand soon.

and even if you get a Tourist Visa you may still be denied entry by Thai Immigration. These are changing times. Good Luck.

Elite visa is cheaper than Iglu

You can use a consulate more than once, unless they tell you stop using it.

Another option is to get a visa that fits your needs. It appears you're a digital nomad from your Facebook profile. You can contact the nice people over at Igul and they may be able to help you with a visa.

no stamp - I never use the same consulate twice

Soy El Mono What do you mean by "run out of nearby consulates"? You got a stamp in your passport from Vientiane, Savannakhet, HCMC, Hanoi, Peang (spelling?) and KL saying you can't use their consulates to get SETVs anymore?

Yeah - American. I will be going for a SETV. I have run out of nearby consulates
