If you're applying for a visa by mail from the US, does it matter which embassy you go through? Any advice on this? Thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a Thai visa by mail from the US, it does matter which embassy or consulate you go through, as each consulate serves specific regions. Users recommend checking the geographic coverage for each consulate (Chicago, New York, Washington D.C., Los Angeles), and the new online system allows applicants to choose any of these four consulates. It is essential to ensure the selected consulate offers the required visa services, and users have had varying experiences with mailing services, with USPS recommended for safety.

You can choose any of the four consulates/embassy that are issuing visas (DC, LA, Chicago, and NYC). You used to be assigned based on a geographical map, but when they switched to a new online system it now allows you to choose. We have had a good experience with Chicago and D.C. you apply online first and then mail your passport and supporting documents. I would recommend USPS and send them priority with tracking.

Use the one your state is under. They can reject if you dont.

I was in WI, went thru Chicago. 5-10 day turnaround, delivery included.

Fedex was fine for me. USPS priority appears good too.

Please be warned, do not use

Thank you! It will delay her trip by at least a month, if they can't locate it.

Yes. Each state is covered by a specific office. There should be a map somewhere that shows the zones.
