I only got questioned when I left! Why are you leaving after 3 weeks when you have 180 days, something wrong here? 😅

everything was fine for me too, no questions asked. Only when I left Thailand... Thought it was funny to be questioned about why I leave early :)

sorry my English maybe is not good enough in (I am not English 😂) , I meant if the DTV is for 6 months, and after that you can extend it another 6 months, how is it possible you need to extend it already if you got it in July? You should do it after 6 months right? Maybe there is something I did not understand.

He doesn’t need to extend it yet. He’s only just arrived. Even then they probably won’t extend it anyway if the expected fee of 10,000 baht plays out (we don’t know yet). They’re better off to do a border bounce for cheaper.

Yes, this is my 1st entry/use of the dtv, so I get my 1st 180 days, then can extend at immigration for another 180 days, which I'm led to believe is 1900 baht same as any other visa extension, after all, you can extend a 1 yr ao visa for retirement for 1900 so why would this be any different.

Not sure what you mean here. The OP just landed and got a 180 day stamp on arrival. Irrelevant what month they got it. It couldn’t have been before July 15th.
