Has anyone completed an online tourist visa application recently? It’s asking me to upload an identity card of a person whose house I’m staying at in Thailand and also a letter from an employer or pension statement, which doesn’t apply to my tourist visa application. It won’t let me proceed without uploading them. Any ideas?

Answer summary

A user is seeking help with the online tourist visa application process, which requests an identity card of a local resident and an employer's letter or pension statement, both of which seem unnecessary for tourists. Community responses suggest submitting a hotel booking and marking employer documents as not applicable, noting that the document upload requirements may be excessive for tourist visas.

I did as Brandon said and everything was fine. There is one upload page for most (all?) Visa types so it is overkill for the tourist visa.

Easiest way is just upload hotel booking and for employer out NA, then whatever they want they will contact you via email for it

Upload your hotel booking for invitation.

Upload something with "not applicable" written on it for the employer statement.
