TLDR : Answer Summary
A user preparing for a Thailand DTV visa application inquires if they should submit a self-signed employment contract as the owner of a UK limited company. The community suggests alternatives such as providing company registration documents, a cover letter explaining the role, and proof of business activity. They emphasize that while a self-signed contract isn't typically required or strong on its own, showing a legitimate business operation is key.

If you’re the sole director/owner, a self-signed employment contract isn’t usually required and often isn’t the strongest document on its own.

What people commonly submit instead:

• Company registration documents (UK Companies House)

• Cover letter explaining your role and how you earn income

• Director confirmation / company letter stating you actively work for the company

• Proof of business activity (invoices, contracts, or bank statements)

The goal is simply to show the company is real and you actively work in it. Your covering letter is important and appropriate here.

I am planning to write a company letter signed by myself (as company owner). In the letter I will allow myself to work remotely in Thailand for the / my company.

Yes, a little strange, but I think other self employed persons have done it this way. If unnecessary or not correct, please let me know.

Same situation as you - I submitted company registration, tax returns for previous year, and bank accounts business and personal. That was sufficient

Might be helpful to appoint another director and have it countersigned if possible
