What should I do if the immigration officer mistakenly stamped my entry as 30 days instead of recognizing my valid 60-day visa?

Seeking visa/immigration advice.. I have a valid 60 day visa in my passport, and i just realized the immigration officer at the airport did not see the visa and instead stamped me in for a 30 day on arrival visa.. which means I've now over stayed almost 20 days... if i go to immigration will they correct this for me if i go before the 60 days should have been up?! without penalty? Or do I have to leave the country asap? Thank you community! 💖

FOr anyone else dealing with this, a good friend of mine had it happen to her last month, and she noticed it just before her 60 days should have been up (so she was almost 30 days into the overstay)... she went to samui immigration and they handled it easily in less than an hour without any problems <3

, you're NOT on overstay, you were stamped in wrong. Like possibly hundreds of people every day the country over.

BUT you do need to go correct the stamp asap.

It is your responsibility to make sure you're stamped in for the correct amount of time when you arrive here.

.. I was planning to leave the country in a week and was thinking I could wait it out until then, but it seems I should go to Samui asap to handle it there instead of waiting and doing it at the airport. Thanks for your support and suggestions!

I agree with Ron, go as soon as possible. And directly apply for the 30 days Extension of Stay, saves you another trip to Samui. And check directly if they hand back the passport, check the dates.. Changing stamp on the spot is easy, it becomes more difficult if you are 50 days later.

You need to go ASAP. Most likely they will correct it but not noticing for 20 days isn't good.

Check and double check everytime you come through immigration.
