Is it advisable to apply for a 30-day extension before the TM30 is handled by my agent when transitioning to an ED visa in Chiang Mai?

Hey everyone - haven't seen the answer to this one in the archives:

- currently on a 30 day visa exempt

- getting an ED visa soon

- moving into a house with 1-year lease (Chiang Mai)

- estate agent is taking care of the TM30

I still need time before I can get my ED visa, so is it wise to apply for a 30 day extension BEFORE my agent deals with the TM30? Or does it make little difference?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user on a 30-day visa exemption in Chiang Mai is considering whether to apply for a 30-day extension before their estate agent handles the TM30 form, while they await their ED visa. A commenter suggests that as long as the user hasn't moved into the new address yet, they should apply for the extension regardless of the TM30.

If you still did not moved into the address, just apply for the Extension. If you move into your new address you need to file the TM30 form, guess you made a typo.

And thanks for the answer. Was hoping to visit Promenada next week to avoid overspill from today's holiday, but guess it makes sense to get the extension before moving in. ๐Ÿ‘
