TLDR : Answer Summary
A user expresses frustration over their Thai OA visa application being rejected due to a demand for a new police check by ACRO instead of the previously accepted DBS check. They also face issues with their bank statements being rejected because they submitted them from two separate accounts. The community discusses recent updates regarding the requirement of police checks and financial proof, emphasizing the need for clarity from the embassy about current requirements.

Just read all this with interest thanks - as I will be applying in London next month. Is it better to go to the Embassy or via postal service? 🙏🏻🇹🇭
Toby ********
Post off to embassy as soon as you have submitted online and printed barcode. Remember to include £10 cash for them to return it to you. We got ours in 4 days
Ron *******
@Laura *************
much the same as you still need to apply via E visa first.

Please don't forget, it will involve 2 trips to the Embassy if you prefer not to post. You drop off one day and need to go back to collect on another as it isn't a same day service.

@Robert ******
by email thanks Robert I thought it was an automated email but your right thanks can reply
Robert *******
how did they ask for the extra bank statements? if by e-mail reply to that e-mail if by phone, why not asked directly in stead of asking here?
Carl ***********
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Ron ******
yes bank statements ok will call them
Ron *******
@Carl **********
you need to get the actual mailing address for the correct dept from them. I'm certain each person has their own mailing address.

Have they asked for more documents?
Robert *******
As far as i know and is mentioned in topics for months now is that the Police check by Acro is the only one allowed. Surprised to see a second option was available for a few days.

Been seen or not this is not my problem, surely if I've already applied and at time my application was correct it should be accepted, now I have to run around for bank statements and have another criminal record check, have to see what they say as they are calling me back thanks
Ron *******
They may let it pass as you already applied.

Good luck in getting it sorted out
Carl ***********
ORIGINAL POSTER
Thanks Ron but when I applied which was Sunday DBS was accepted I posted Monday morning so unfortunately they are moving the goal posts half way through my application which isn't good
Ron *******
As I said, all these local agreements which they have been applying I think have been seen and are having a stop put too them.

It has to be applied as one system worldwide with the same requirements.

Watch out for the system update due tomorrow night or tonight depending on your time zone.

ORIGINAL POSTER
As well as the DBS there was no mention of only one account. It said bank statements which could mean several things
Ron *******
There has certainly been an update regarding the police check. The DBS option has gone unfortunately.

Regarding income. They are still accepting proof one month of £1650 so if you can show a recent statement that should cover it. Reality now is that 65k a month is closer to £1850 due to exchange rates so I guess it too will change.

I cannot say with 100% certainty but the lump sum method should be in just one account of your name.

Just one month's proof with a bank statement is fine.

They are being lenient with just requiring one month as the rules say 3 months.

London have been pretty good so far. They even allowed one member here an O-A although he was short on his monthly income. I have a suspicion Bangkok may have been looking at the online applications (your upload go's to the system which is Bangkok based) and what was being allowed and come down on them.

See the screen shot from them. At one time they was not really rejecting anybody.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the one month being put back to the 3 months requirement at some stage.

I hope you can get it sorted.
Ron *******
Carl Pritchard call them and ask who you need to mail them too.

Good news today they have accepted the DBS certificate, another good thing if I put my accounts together they will accept, BUT WHERE I I EMAIL MY STATEMENTS??? Help
Ron *******
@Da**
kind of because I use Facebook messenger.

@Ron ******
oh ok. thanks. Thoughts it was a Facebook page.
Ron *******
@Carl **********
the system is locked out in Bangkok. If the requirements change, they cannot over ride it.

But surely if you have already applied the updates should not affect you, otherwise I could be on this indefinately ?
Ron *******
@James *******
people should also be aware of the system update coming 1st August and pay attention to what may change

Exactly so I applied for the DBS check now they say it's no use! Not good all this happening
Toby ********
And the DBS is a new addition to the website. When I started getting my docs together, only ACRO police check was valid. Last month or so it also says DBS.
Toby ********
Did you speak to someone at the embassy after the email? I got an email about income. I rang and talked her through the monthly income in one account and lump sum in another. Meeting the requirements. She agreed it over the phone. My online status changed almost immediately.
Carl ***********
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Toby *******
yes spoke to her she's calling me back hopefully in the morning
James *******
It was ACRO a few months ago when I got mine, and linked directly from the website. If you can show an income greater than equivalent 65,000 per month you don`t need to seed the account in advance.
James *******
I can clearly see yours does say DBS, I never saw that before or heard of it. I did mine in person before EVisa as I knew it was coming and potential teething problems like this is why I did that.
Carl ***********
ORIGINAL POSTER
They have updated tge site today I took picture this afternoon?
James *******
Your statements need to be current, yes? Not May, thats 3 months ago.
Carl ***********
ORIGINAL POSTER
@James ******
i just worked out on my statement for may £1825 income?? Can have another police check im really confused
James *******
I just took my pic now, but it looks the same as the last time I looked, I have never heard of DBS before.
James *******
The financial requirement is clearly one or the other, but you met that so I don`t know why it wasn`t accepted. ACRO is the recognised police check.
Carl ***********
ORIGINAL POSTER
@James ******
the picture i posted was taken 4:45pm??? When was it updated???
James *******

Taken today off the thai website london

James *******
Sorry I can see on the website ACRO and the financial requirement as either 65k or 800k. I`m not sure your reading the correct information.
Carl ***********
ORIGINAL POSTER
James Power so why isnt the website updated same as the DBS check ive paid for thats no use? Terrible
James *******
Ah ok, sorry I don`t know. Sounds to me like you meet the requirement stated on the website, I understand your frustration. I have never seen a combination stated it`s clear on the website one or the other. Combinations used to be accepted for renewals, as far as I know that`s no longer the case.
Carl ***********
ORIGINAL POSTER
James Power but you are allowed a combination of the two? It state everywhere
Carl ***********
ORIGINAL POSTER
@James ******
sorry it was £1830 per month
James *******
£1700 doesn't cover the 65k per month minimum unfortunately, which is what they will want to see. And the 12k doesn`t cover the 800k lump sum. I`m no expert but I would guess that`s a problem, they want to see one of the requirements not a combination.
Carl ***********
ORIGINAL POSTER
I sent them 2 months over £1700 per month and second accound over 12k in it??? What more do they want?
James *******
I can see it is revised to 1 month. I don`t know about the separate accounts. I just tried to cover myself for all scenarios and had 6 months statements showing 65k + per month in one account, it was accepted.
James *******
@Carl **********
Does one of them have income of over 65,000 thb a month? If not you have to show 800k thats been seeded 3 months in advance, unless it`s changed. I just had the 65k + in one account. I also kept 800k seeded in another but it was never asked for.
Carl ***********
ORIGINAL POSTER
@James ******
i sent both accounts that equals way over 800,000 together be she said gas to be all in one account but nothing said about this it just says bank accounts???
Danny **********
I think the embassy updated the financial requirements recently, if you have a look it states money only needs to be in account for 1 month .
Danny **********
Carl Pritchard they want too see 800,000 baht or equivalent in pounds (about £20,000) that has been in the account for at least one month before you apply for visa, i asked if money in an ISA was ok but no, they want it in a bank account. Daft I know but that’s what they want
Carl ***********
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Danny *********
? So how you have instant access if its monthly? Both my accounts i have instant access?? They obviously not got tge brains add tge two together, if tgey did tgey would see its 1 1/2 times tge requirements or
*****
***
times tge requirements or 120000bhat how stupid
Danny **********
@Carl **********
as far as I’m aware it has to be in one account and that account has to have instant access to the money in there
Carl ***********
ORIGINAL POSTER
Can it be a combination of the two? As in 10k savings and 10k income?
Carl ***********
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Danny *********
and nothing said about two accounts, they not accept as I have one deposit account and a personal account she said has to ne one only!!
Danny **********
Financial evidence showing monthly income of not less than 65,000 THB (approx. £1,625) or having the current balance of 800,000 THB (approx. £20,000), e.g. bank statements, proof of earnings, for at least 1 month this is from their website for non immigrant OA visa, god knows why they would ask for 3 months
Danny **********
On the website it srates only 1 month, i I would call them explain the situation see uf its ok to transfer money into one account and see uf they will let you apply again without charging you another fee
Carl ***********
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Danny *********
they contacted me today and said 3 months??
Carl ***********
ORIGINAL POSTER
Thats not my problem mate its my 2 bank accounts how can i merge as tgen data is not for 3 months like they are asking for??
Bell *******
Sorry to hear about your issues and thanks for the info, Carl.

Re ACRO, the embassy website directed you to the ACRO website (this was from 2 months ago, unsure if this has changed). However, ACRO is pretty quick and does not cost much.

On the website (in UK) the link takes you to it.
