What is the best way to prove the 500k THB requirement for a Thai visa when using funds from a family account?

Hello,

I have a few questions regarding the bank statement to prove the 500k THB, although I scrolled the group posts by searching, I couldn't find something similar to my situation (apologized if my questions were actually already answered):

1. I'm a French citizen, with Permanent Residency in Taiwan. I have worked in Taiwan for 6 years, so I can show my salary slip until June 2024.

2. I recently started a new job. It's a consultant contract, with a Singaporean company, starting from July 2024 to December 2024. Same here I can show my contract and my invoices for July+August payment.

3. The thing is, I made few big operations with my Taiwanese bank account so currently my Taiwanese account doesn't have 500k THB.

4. However, in France we have a family shared account, (I have the power of attorney for this account but it's not under my name, my parents'), where we do have more than 500k THB.

Questions:

1. Would you advise to transfer money from the family account to my own personal account? Or a statement proving that I have the power of attorney would be enough?

2. If I do need to transfer on an account under my name: Is transferring to my French bank account would do, or is it better to transfer directly to my Taiwanese account, which I used daily for the past 6 years (I received all my salary on this account)?

3. I understand that each embassy/office have different rules regarding the period we have those 500k THB in the account.

Let's say I do the necessary transfers next week, would you recommend Taipei or Vientiane? I have family in both cities so its convenient for me to stay there few days, hence those two options..

Thank you in advance for your answers!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A French citizen residing in Taiwan seeks advice on proving financial requirements (500k THB) for a Thai visa application. Key points include past financial operations affecting current account balance, the role of a family account in France, and considerations for transferring funds. Community responses suggest transferring funds to a personal account for clarity and applying at the Thailand Trade and Economic Office in Taipei, where specific financial documentation and proof of income are critical.

Apply in Taipei and transfer additional funds to your Taiwanese account. Problem solved.

Agreed to apply in Taipei. Transfer funds into your personal account to prove the 500k. In Taipei office only need to show current balance for the 500k. Also need to show the income entering your account, work contract, invoices, letter from the company showing that you can work remotely, etc.

This is where I applied. They are good to work with but can get confused if paperwork isn't simple and exactly as they expect that is why I suggest transferring the funds into your personal account. 1) it will be in local language so no translation and 2) no confusion about ownership. I saw them question someone while I was there because confused about ownership.

Still, don't they need documents to be in Thai or English regardless? I guess if it's just a local bank account, they can work with that regardless, though I'd assume statements from local banks should be issued in both Traditional Chinese and English.

Apply at the Thailand Trade and Economic Office - TTEO in Taipei

That is hands down one of the most user friendly consulates in S/E Asia to apply for the DTV. I'd go apply with what you have and see, they won't even take your application if you can't apply, just turn you away and then you'll know
