What should I do if my e-visa application is causing issues because I'm flying from India instead of the UK?

I'm having trouble with my evisa and getting very concerned as I fly end of next week.

I am in India. Because I have a UK passport, the application is being processed in the UK.

Twice now I have been emailed for my flight ticket FROM THE UK. Twice I have explained I'm not flying to Thailand from the UK, but from India.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Am now really starting to freak out.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user in India, holding a UK passport, is facing difficulties with their e-visa application due to confusion regarding flight details. Despite explaining that their flight to Thailand is from India, they received repeated requests for tickets from the UK. They express anxiety about their upcoming flight and seek advice from the community. Comments from others suggest options like providing a dummy ticket, applying through the Thai embassy instead of online, or considering visa-exempt entry upon arrival. However, past experiences indicate complications when the e-visa does not align with actual travel plans.

Marc, I will shortly be in the same position. I am American but living in Germany. What did you need to apply as a non-German citizen at the Thai Embassy in Germany E-Visa.

Thank you for your help

The evisa website says the opposite. I have to put in I am in China as well to be able to apply the evisa, but I am obviously not in China. So I don't know what to do.

I understand, most likely (but not 100% sure) the covid extensions will keep going after
*****
because the land borders remain closed. This should give you your 90 days easy. 30 + 60 day covid .

It is likely they will continue but no guarantee (I think they will)

Tobie Oud. Land borders and covid extensions are not related. The covid extensions are for people who could not return to their home countries due to covid restrictions.

In my opinion they are very much related. If they were solely for countries were you cannot return home, they they would only give them to people from those countries. Due to the closed borders, visa runs are not an option anymore, so keeping tourist in the country for a longer period can only be done with the covid extension.

This is just my opinion of course and you are free to disagree. Wl'll see what happens.

When I just tried e visa website it says UK passport holders in India have to apply at embassy. This is why i suggested trying with a dummy ticket. Otherwise you need to go apply at embassy

Yes think the form is as clear as mud, even though say permanent residence/current location think its refering to current location. Although e visa shouldnt matter Thai logic at its best.

I think it's too late to suddenly give a new ticket. Already spent a fortune. (I have to leave India, so not really a choice).

I'd also be really nervous at immigration in India and Thailand if they realised the visa had the wrong flight details.

@Jo ******
Your flight details are not on your visa.

Flight details are only on Thailandpass.

Officially as you are in India you cannot apply for e visa.

The visa is valid for 3 months.

No problem for immigration once you have visa.

Personally i think best two options are.

A) Get a dummy ticket UK to Thailand as that what they have asked for. I had not same problem but similar recently and it involved me buying cheap ticket out even though they knew i had no intention of using it. Sent it in Ten minutes later i got my COE

B) Come in on visa exempt you get 60 days total. Borders are starting to open Cambodia flight only this week, Myanmar land crossings maybe December 1st and take it from there
