Hi everyone, has anyone experienced this? The immigration officer questioned why is your DTV not issued from your birth country? The officer hesitated to stamp but eventually did.
Is there a need to reapply DTV in my birth country or continue using my current DTV?
FYI. I wasn’t able to apply in my birth country as DTV isn’t available back then not until this year. Currently on workcation category.
Would love to hear your opinions :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The question revolves around concerns regarding the issuance of a DTV (Digital Tourist Visa) from a country other than the applicant's birth country, and interactions with immigration officers questioning this. Responses indicate that there's no need to reapply for the DTV, and applicants can infrequently apply for visas outside their home countries. Some users shared similar experiences with immigration questioning but affirmed that as long as there are clean records, there shouldn't be any issues.
DTV is scam and sh*t show, people paying so much money and effort to get this and still questioning at the immigration like a criminal. for what all these energy and effort ? for living underdeveloped 3rd world country ? Come on people , be smart and go spend your money somewhere where you are more welcome !
Some people used dodgy agents in neighbouring countries to get their DTV. So some IOs are suspicious about it. Nothing to worry about if everything is above board.
Quite a bizarre and stupid question by the officer. For some of us there isn't even a Thai embassy in my country. I had to submit to the nearest neighbouring country.
Almost every type of visa can be applied for outside of your own country. A very small number of visas can only be applied for in your home country such as METV and Non Imm O-A.
last year i arrived to BKK international Airport the officer hit Yellow button and i was escorted to another area near the immigration office without any explanation at all after that officer shows up with my passport he told me what is the problem my answer was i don't know and i never never broke any rules before he checked his computer for a few minutes and start smiling he told me its ok no problem you have clean records in the system and sorry for the delay after that he stamp my passport in the office and was escorted to the baggage claim
