Hi everyone! Grateful for your help 🫶 I am both a Aus & UK resident (live with family in both places so have residency proofs). Currently in Aus for 8 weeks before heading back to UK for 6 weeks which is where I will be going to thailand hopefully on the dvt from. Do you see any issues applying for the DVT now in Aus, but my statements will be a UK bank account + UK employment? My dependent will also be applying after (I'm guessing the location he will apply from will not make a difference then?)

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about applying for a DVT visa from Australia while being a resident of both Australia and the UK, utilizing UK bank statements and employment for the application. A respondent, who had successfully applied for a similar visa, indicated that while applying from Australia is possible, it would be more advantageous to apply from the UK if circumstances permit. However, the chances of approval remain good irrespective of the application location.

Hi fellow Brit here, I applied in London and was approved. I don't envisage you having issues on that basis as long as you apply in Aus & remain in Aus for the duration of your application. I think the optics would be better if you was in the UK and applying from your UK address certainly, but plenty of people have applied from other countries and been successful. If you're able to wait until back in the UK I would recommend that as everything will line up nicely in relation to your documents and location but if not... all should still be fine from Australia.
