Hi everyone! Any fellow Canadians here who have applied for the DTV? I'd love to know if you applied through the Ottawa or Vancouver embassy and what your experience was like. I'm especially curious about the success rate before I submit my application. Thanks in advance 😃

TLDR : Answer Summary
Several Canadians shared their experiences applying for the Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) through the Ottawa and Vancouver embassies. Users noted varying approval times and emphasized the advantages of obtaining information from the consulate beforehand. Approval times ranged from 24 hours to a week, with a preference for the Vancouver embassy due to quicker responses and positive experiences.

Vancouver, soft power, 24 hours.

Just call the consulate, tell them exactly what you have in terms of info, and they’ll let you know if it’s enough or not.

Once they give you the green light, just apply. You’re literally talking to the person that will give you the stamp of approval.

Ottawa dental treatment. Asked for 6 mths plan n approved.

Ottawa. Digital nomad. 48 hours no problems. My dad did medical (dentist appointments). Less than a week.

'scuse my ignorance, what is soft power?

I’d avoid Ottawa if you can. Mine was approved there in 7 days via soft power but prior to this I didn’t have good experiences there

Vancouver, soft power, 4 days with having to add 1 additional document
