DTV done ✅

It wasn't as hard as you might think. There was only one bit about the company and what to show as evidence that I had to check again ...I did ask on here (but got a smart arse reply from someone but I got banned a day for replying back to them ...but that's another story)

Two days through the UK evisa from start to finish.

They approved your application within two days of submitting it, so you now have the DTV Visa is that correct?

In the form, it asks you to enter your intended date of entry. Does the visa start counting from the day it is granted or from the “intended date of entry”?

Did they ask for proof of flight booking(s), or even proof of accommodation? They shouldn't, because there are no required fields to upload that anymore. But some consulates were reported to even ask for that.

asked when I was due to arrive and what flight and when leaving again (don't know why). But never asked for proof .. asked for address but not for proof ...only all the basics you see on the adverts for it

Gotcha. Thanks. Yeah the form still asks for those information. Until a couple of months ago, they even wanted proof by means up uploads for both flight and accommodation, though. Glad that is gone. Never made much sense to have that ready before even being granted a visa.

not as bad a mark up as some others Ive heard. For the proof of funds u only need to show once right? So not every time u extend(if u do).

there is not a lot of clear info on this , and nothing asked about having to show it again , but seem some other reports saying you need to keep it in ...but nothing official.

Basically my visa just said 5 years multiple entry

Nice. Congratulations. Seems the London consulate in on a roll. And why not. I think the requirements on the working side of things are quire clear. The "Thai Soft Power" part on the other hand leaves a lot to be desired.

London isn't a Thai consulate, it's a full on Embassy.

Technically it is the consular section within an embassy, then. But administering visa matters in consular work - either by a consular department of a full fledged embassy, or by a consulate.

no comment or I'll get banned again , I was getting sick of the keyboard clowns in the group on other posts ...and I asked on a DTV post about the document the guy put in as he didn't want to show his tax info ( fair enough) but someone jumped in and was trying to be smart .. so I said something I shouldn't have apparently 🙈

So you applied and got approved and the actual visa within two days?

I’m curious to know what it says about 90 day check-in? Can you open a bank account in Thailand with this Visa? Thanks.

regardless of what visa you have, non-b, Non-O, non-OA, non-ED and even the new DTV. If you are in the country for more than 90 consecutive days you need to do a 90 day report.

yes and that was them coming back to me about the company part , I already had a Thai bank account, and I'll not be in for 90 days anyway, I'll use it for what it really is intended for by popping in and out for work .

legally, of course you do have to do 90 day reports. There's nothing in the law that says otherwise.

But realistically, 99% of the people on this visa will never have a reason to go to the immigration office. That's the only time both a missed TM30 or 90 day report would be caught and penalized.

there is no mention of it on the visa , but I am sure more will come out from it all.. I never bothered asking as I said I'll be in and out a fair bit

Also, I am not exactly sure that a 90 days report will be required on a DTV, though it might be. Why? Because during COVID times, with COVID extensions, I tried to do a 90 day report, but they would not have it, as they said that 90 day reports would only apply to Non-Immigrant visa. Might be a different scenario now with the DTV.

that's because you were never on a stay that allowed you to stay over 90 days. That's what triggers 90 day reports starting. For example someone who enters on a non-O visa will not be required to do a 90 day report even after day 90 because they're not on a stay that allows them to stay over 90 days. But once they apply for and receive their 1 year extension, the first 90 day report is due 90 days after they receive that because they can now stay more than 90 days.

So a bunch of short term "temporary" extensions wouldn't require reporting.

I was wondering about that. Does missing 90 day report only get penalized at local immigration offices, so not at airports when leaving?

the airport doesn't care about TM30 or 90 day report.

So, I guess, if one needs a "residence certificate" for driving licenses, bank, etc. (and for that a TM.30), this should be done in the first half of the 180 day stay. 😉
