Hello everyone.
I am currently studying in Thailand for a semester but I went to Laos in the meantime.
I did my re-entry and security then stamped the wrong date.
My visa was supposed to expire on April 5, 2024 but they wrote April 5, 2025. Leaving Thailand on April 30, I was wondering if I had to pay 50e again to extend my student visa? Because they got my passport wrong with the stamp and that suits me.
Do you think I still have to extend my visa? it says April 5, 2025 on my passport.. thank you!
TLDR : Answer Summary
A student in Thailand mistakenly received a passport stamp with an incorrect expiration date for their visa. They are seeking advice on whether they need to extend their visa since the stamp shows an expiration date of April 5, 2025, while their actual visa is set to expire on April 5, 2024. The responses emphasize that the immigration system's records are what matter, and that staying past the correct expiration date will result in overstay charges. It is also advised to correct the stamp as soon as possible.
