Looking for pretty specific advice. Arrived in Phuket from the U.S. yesterday. My daughter and I both have eVisas but were given the wrong stamp in our passports. I'm being advised to try and get a correction on the stamp at the Phuket Airport Immigration office. Does anyone have any experience with the airport immigration (i.e., do they close for lunch, how long did you have to wait, where do I go in the airport, etc.) I'm keen to know how far in advance I should give myself before my 2pm domestic flight.

TLDR : Answer Summary

And I think the O/P now knows they go back to the Phuket Airport where they were stamped in to get their entry stamps corrected.

Good luck, believe me you're not the first foreigner in thailand to get stamped in wrong.

and this is a good reminder to everyone CHECK your stamp before you walk away from the passport control counter when you're stamping in.

The basic rule is simple. The (entry or extension) stamp can be corrected by only the issuer (the immigration office where it's issued).

Can you show a picture of what was stamped in your passport, and the visa/ evisa form?

What kind of one year E-visa you and your daughter have and based on what?

Like Non Immigrant O-A? Which is a visa for people over 50 years, sounds a little strange for your daughter.

What was the stamp that you were supposed to get? What stamp did they put into your passport? BTW you were brave to get a flight out of Phuket the day after you arrived in the Test N Go one night stay plan. Its problems like this one which is the reason I recommend to plan two nights rather than one night in the Test N Go plan. Get the stamp problem SOLVED before you leave Phuket as you may be told to go back to Phuket and get it corrected if you leave Phuket without correcting the error.

90 day stamp, on a one year E visa. I gave myself 2 nights in Phuket but only realized the problem after the first night…. I have a afternoon flight tomorrow, so should be able to get it done at the airport before flying.

@Ashley *******
you say a One Year E Visa. What was the basis for obtaining it?

Retirement?

Multi-entry ?

Married to Thai ?

Parent of Thai child ?

Or ???

Many Non O visas are stamped into Thailand for 90 days and you have to go to Thai immigration to seek to extend it and need to meet added requirements too.

If you were stamped (=enter Thailand officially) at Phuket airport, you can go to the airport immigration office (they don't close for lunch) or ask the immigration office in Phuket what you need to do.

If you were stamped at Suvarnabhumi airport first then traveled domestically to Phuket (i guess not though), it wouldn't work. You need to visit the immigration at Suvarnabhumi airport.

Always check when people put stamps in your passport.

Immigration at the airport is in the International part, as you fligh domestic it could be difficult to reach it.

Better is to visit the Immigration Office in Phuket Town, bring passports and e-visa and explain that the officer put the wrong stamp in your passport.

I read that there was one in the domestic part at the Phuket airport. My husband even called the number today…. Also, was told it’s best to go to the office that gave the stamp (in this case airport, not Phuket town office).
