What Should I Do If My 90-Day Report Notice Is Missing After Visa Renewal?

This is something I do not quite recall happening before.

Before I renewed my Visa I knew my 90 day report was due shotly after my Visa was to be renewed.

I was planning to ask at immigration when I picked up my visa.

Now I just looked and the 90 Report notice and copy of arrival ticket are both missing.

Am I safe to assume the 90 day report is 90 days after my visa is renewed?

The arrival ticket I have a copy in my papers so that does not matter

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is uncertain about the timing of their 90-day report after renewing their visa in Thailand and notes that the report notice is missing. Community members clarify that the 90-day reporting period starts after entering Thailand or after a report has been submitted, not necessarily tied directly to visa renewal. They explain the importance of keeping track of visa types and reporting requirements, specifically for a Non-Immigrant O visa based on retirement, and advise the user to check their immigration office's practices regarding 90-day reporting.

And thus we see how the misuse of terminology can throw a thread right off the rails You NEVER renew a visa and as a rule you get visas from thai consulates in other countries AND you also never renew yearly extensions of stays, you apply for a NEW one every year (even though you might have done this for many years) and you always get yearly extensions at the immigration office that serves the area where you stay.

Yep, looks like they took out the TM6 departure card AND the receipt of your previous 90 day report while you were there (which means you have to slog back)

Keep in mind some offices DO reset your 90 day reporting when you do a yearly extension AND the way to tell if they did or did is to ask yourself this question

When I got my yearly extension did they give me a NEW receipt with a 90 day report date on it?

If the answer is yes, they DID reset the 90 day reporting but if the answer is no, then your 90 day report is due when ever your current receipt says it's due

you normally never do a 90 day report on this visa, because you have to leave and re-enter Thailand every 90 days to keep this visa alive, and each entry sets your report-due date back to number one, again

alright, this clears the matter. He will have to do 90-day reports on Immigration or set the clock back to number 1 with a re-entry. All on his 1-year Extension of Stay

Thanks Gregor for your willingness to help Warren. Much appreciated😉

he has Extension of Stay one year.

however, the part I do not understand is, a 1-year Multi Entry Non-Imm O based on retirement needs you to do a border run before 90 days have passed, in order to receive a new 90-day admission of stay. To my knowledge you cannot get a 90-day extension on an immigration office in side Thailand. Did you do a border run or did you submit your passport an an immigration office?

so you got an "admission of stay" out of a Multi Entry Non-Imm-O visa based on retirement, which must be extended every 90 days, for another 90 days. This has nothinh to do with your 90-day report. The Report must be made 90 days after entering Thailand and each 90 days after a 90-day report on immigration. Both dates - the date of extension and the 90-day report due date, are only coincidentally close to each other

This was a Visa extention was the 90 days from then?

and a word about wording: One does not "renew" a visa. A visa cannot be "renewed". Only an admitted stay can be extended ("extension of permit of stay")
Gregor **********
it seems you lost your departure card. It is needed when hotels want to register you per TM30 . . however if you have a copy of it, they can read the arrival/departure card number, so not a problem. About your 90-day report: You should have made it when you extended your Visa. The 90-days count only starts anew, if you leave and re-enter Thailand, or after the report. As long as you are inside Thailand, the 90-day clock is ticking and you must report at an Immigration minimum 10 days before and 7 days after the due date, every 90 days, after the report the clock is set back to number one, again

Sry. 15 days before and 7 days after....when you do it in person.
