TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the relationship between renewing a retirement visa and completing a 90-day report in Thailand. They want to know if renewing their retirement visa on the same day as their 90-day report would result in a new visa expiration of November 5th or November 17th. Responses indicate that the retirement visa is not renewed but rather an Extension of Stay is applied for, which can be done when there are 45 days or less left on the current stamp. It's possible to complete the 90-day report 15 days in advance, and the expiry date for the extension will be set to the original visa expiration date.

Funny enough , I went dome my ' extension ' ( I assume that's what you mean ) on Friday . 19 days early , and my 90 days which was about a week after the original , but when I went for my last 90 days he ( officer ) change my date so they both read the same ( 12th oct ) .. ( he said to save me coming back twice ) I go to collect my passport hopefully stamped up on Monday , and the date will show 12th oct 2018 , I'll go back and do my 90 days next week or week after , it's no hassle as I only live up the road ..

Strange, What type of extension of stay are you on and why does the immigration office have your passport?

Richard, just go apply for the new extension of stay and do your 90 day report any time AFTER the 23 of Oct.

You can apply for an extension of stay at most offices when you have 45 days or less left on your current stamp AND you can do a 90 day report 15 days early. You don't lose any time on your extension because they just add a year to your current expiration date

Do them both on the same visit to the immigration office

, some immigration offices only let you do it 30 days early, but that'll still work out for you time wise to do both at once..

FWIW: If you're in bangkok, get your yearly extension BEFORE you do your 90 day report because they won't take it if your current stamp runs out before your next 90 day report would be due, :/

I hope you mean you stay in Thailand with an Extension of Stay. You can not renew visa, but you can apply for a NEW Extension Of Stay based on retirement for 1 year if you meet all the requirements. The Extension of Stay start at the last day of your permitted to stay date, in your case 17 Nov 2017.
