Does anyone know of a process of moving DTV e-visa to a new passport? Can it be done in Thailand or you need to go back to consulate where you received the DTV?

TLDR : Answer Summary
Transferring a DTV e-visa to a new passport is not possible. Instead, you must carry both the new passport and the original passport containing the e-visa during entry. Some users suggest that the process can be managed at a local immigration office in Thailand.

You can’t move a DTV evisa to a new passport. The evisa is a PDF file sent to you from the embassy where you applied.

You simply have to show both passports on entry for the life of the visa.

My understanding (could be wrong), is that immigration can only transfer visas that they have the ability to also issue for you here in country. Since DTV is visa that is only issued outside of Thailand via a consulate (MoFA), Dept. of Immigration in Thailand can’t transfer this particular type of visa, like it can with others. I still think it is somewhat speculation though.
