TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster had to postpone their yearly visa extension interview due to car troubles and is concerned that rescheduling again might jeopardize their application. Comments suggest that while it can be an inconvenience, the immigration office is generally understanding in such cases, especially since they've already been notified. It’s emphasized that the procedure can vary by location (e.g., Bangkok vs. Chiang Mai) and it's critical to attend the rescheduled appointment to avoid starting the process over.

Well, definitely get on in there and get that yearly extension. As much as you've struggled (and anguished) over this you need to get it inked in and be done with it for a year :)
I can only guess that officer forgot the interview with witness, send the papers to higher officer and get a call for missing paper. So he called them to come over with witness to meet this requirement.
ahh, so that immigration office is calling people and telling them to drag a witness down to the immigration office rather than going out to the house and doing it themselves?
, she is asked to come back with a witness for an interview that did not take place during application, not to get the 11 months inked in her passport.
They don't often do a in home visit in Chiang Mai and even if they did it would have been weeks ago.
You're lucky they let you move the date, in bangkok no matter what your reason is, you miss the date you start all over again from square one on the extension.
I get confused, first answer was no, now yes and I was told by Immigration Officer. Do you have a stamp in your passport with the top line Chang Mai Immigration and underneath Application of Stay is under consideration of the ...... with date stamp 03 Jul 2018?
and the immi officer only said wed need to come back on said sate to get extension placed in passport. Nothing that wed need interview with witness.. thought maybe we bypassed that then maybe cause we had a baby? (we were also confused was never mentioned) then jst got a random call yesterday
I applied for Extension of Stay, sorry we need a witness otherwise NO extension. I came back with witness, he got interviewed and application was okay. Next year no witness needed, Immigration just said only if you have a NEW Non Immigrant O visa you need a witness to be present at the first application of Extension of Stay. This was in Krabi.
I only applied for it less than a week ago (6 days). But yeah husband d says they wont care its not their issue.... sounds like hes right.. guess its 2 hrs worth of unsafe cabs dragging my neighbour in stupid heat it is.... ** winning** / not
Yes im trying to get a vehicle to borrow . But i dont feel safe putting my newborn in tje safety of a driver i do not know. .. also no taxis out where i live.. so would be red yellow blue cabbing it to town then a taxi... but ok all round opionion is husband is right.. theyll jst not give 2 shits and not give my extension. Fml
As Tod Daniels mentioned above, it’s very rare to happen in BKK. Usually it’s outside BKK. Guess it’s a witness to be sure you’re both living together etc. Is this your first time doing extension of stay based on marriage? Guess something amiss must have made them asked you to.
Sorry but you “had” your interview before your car got into trouble or after? Or are you suppose to come in today to collect your “result” after the 30 days consideration period?
Yep i guess ur right. Jst worst luck ever... hope my neighbor witness goes for it..... im gunn owe her big time thats for sure. ( also has no.mode of transport) ....... so not jst me and my baby
.. but also a new neighbour who agreed to help out .... lol. Awkward
Ashley Malaichaisong sorry things like this you gotta get your priorities right. Look I have kids too so I understand your predicament traveling around thailand etc. but you got to find that extra mojo to sort it out and get yourself down tomorrow no matter what. I mean you have to am I right? It’s an important stuff we’re talking about here. Take care my friend.
Yes i jst relized i didnt write in witness. So ya i wknt be able to make it in tomorrow again.. so that is my concern if i flake again ( with reasonable cause yes) theyll just cancel it and make.me do it all over again.. if i call to rechedual a 2nd time
Ok so they just wanted you to bring over a witness. Since you already called and they were informed, there shouldn’t be any issues tomorrow and it’s a genuine case so don’t worry. Yes they can either “visit” you or ask to come over which is a norm outside of BKK.
Neither. I handed my application for yearly extension in last week. Immigration called us yesterday to say come in with a witness interview (today) at 9 am to their secondary immi office (near cm airport) . We were unable to make it this morning and called at 7 am and recheduled for tomorrow ... ****on that note we were told by immi officer the day we handed in the application .. that we we would have to come back on july 3rd to get extension placed in passport... we assumed they were jst by passing the whole witness thing
