Hello, I have covid extension from Chomburi immigration. I applied 60 days and got 30 days and was asked to come back to get the other 30 days. Problem is that I have moved to Pai and immigration here said that I have to go back to Chomburi immigration.

Anybody have been in same situation, any advices? Would be very inconvenient to travel back to Pattaya just for this. I have tried to call and email to Chomburi immigration but no answers.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster has a COVID visa extension from Chomburi Immigration, which was granted for 30 days with a requirement to return for an additional 30 days. They have since relocated to Pai and are facing difficulties as local immigration insists they must return to Chomburi. Community members confirm that due to the 'under consideration' stamp in the passport, returning to the original immigration office is necessary despite the inconvenience. Suggestions include seeking direct approval from Pai immigration or checking if a new application can be filed, though it's generally advised to comply with Chomburi's instructions.

Yes you have to go back and do

My partner only wanted 30 days and got 60 days at Amnat Charoen Immigration office…. Strange rules in Thailand 🙏

Hey guys, I'm going to ask a question here and I'm going to get pretty upset when you tell me the correct answer. I ONLY want to hear the answer that I want to hear. Thank you.

PS, this is why I don't go to Pai...

They instructed you to come back to their office in Pattaya...and you are surprised that doing the opposite of their instruction is not allowed? You do know you aren't in a Western country don't you? Rebellious behavior is not really encouraged or protected here. LOL

Only thing that surprices me are these stupid comments and that nobody knows a way around this.

I don't think there's any way around it, especially for Pai. You can try asking on a Pai related Facebook group to see if someone knows someone who can help you, but I *HIGHLY* doubt they can, and even if they can claim to help, it might not actually close out the "under consideration" stamp so you may still have problems in the future.

It's not a stupid comment. You just don't understand the culture here. Over time, you'll learn. And NO...no one has a way around this. Call every hotline you want...they will all tell you to go back to Pattaya.

because everyone else who has been in your position has had to go back to the immigration office which currently has them under consideration. Enjoy your trip back to Pattaya, hopefully there will be a bit more life there when you go back!

Under consideration stamps means you have to go back to same office unfortunatly

So there is no way to tell them to stop their consideration and I just apply new extension from Pai or Chiang Mai immigration. I could have apply just 30 days from Chomburi immigration and would be free to apply new extencion now here. What the difference?

No problem to pay it again. Its less than make a return trip to Pattaya.

Ask Pai if they will accept a new application. (I doubt it). But if they did....you'd still have to pay again. After all....this is Thailand. ;)

As nigel said

The only experience i have is wifh long term visa and you have to stick with the same office once you are under condideration. There is no central data base they still use paper and folders.

But i believe certain offices offer for 3000 baht the 60 day covid extension direct with no under consideration stamp and some offices just do straight away for 1900 baht the 60 day visa.

Where you offered a 3000 baht choice ?

can't hurt to pop in and ask

You will be going for a long ride out.

Yup. You have to go back to close the loop
Benjamin ******
If you look at your passport, do you have an under consideration stamp?
