Will my previous 'under consideration' visa extension affect my current tourist visa renewal in Thailand?

Gday, I renewed my Australian passport at the embassy in Bangkok, which will take about 2-3 weeks for me to get my new one and thus I need to extend my tourist visa. My only issue is last time I was in Thailand I went to extend my visa last year the immigration in Pattaya put my extension request as “ under consideration” ( it’s marked in my passport) and I had to come back a two weeks later for them to approve it.

Is that going to become an issue if I renew it or am I better off doing a border run ? Cheers

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user seeks advice on extending their tourist visa in Thailand due to a pending renewal of their Australian passport. They previously experienced an 'under consideration' status when extending their visa in Pattaya and are concerned this may affect their new extension. A commenter suggests that typically extensions are issued promptly, and recommends applying for a 30-day extension.

what was the reason you got that extension last year for? I ask because the only extensions I know of that they were issuing under consideration stamps for were for covid where they made you come back

As a rule 30 day extensions are issued on the spot (Jomtien makes you come back the next day to get the passport I believe)..

I'd go get the 30 day extension for 1900baht
