Do I need a sponsorship letter for my DTV application in Thailand?

Hi everyone, looking at applying for a DTV in Vietnam. To show support for soft power DTV application have people provided and used letters of 3rd party sponsorship (parental support, etc.) to explain how they will be supported during their time in Thailand? Or is something like that not necessary.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The necessity of a sponsorship letter for a DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) application in Thailand depends on your financial situation. If you have the required 500,000 THB in your bank account, a sponsorship letter may not be necessary. However, if the consulate queries how you plan to support yourself, providing a letter along with bank statements from your parents or family member can be beneficial. Some users suggest proving ongoing financial support by maintaining the funds for at least 3 months prior to your application.

Your GamePlan: If you want good support, get them parents if they can, to put 15k € in your bank soon and let them add another 2k per month over the next 6 months. That will do. At the end after approval return it to the parents. They gave you a body. They may do this too. In the meantime stay on regular Tourist if you have to be in Thailand already.

just got the 500k THB deposited into my account 2 weeks ago and I planned on applying for the DTV on January 5th but just found out the 500k balance must be maintained 3 months before I apply. I wrongly thought it was 3 months before I landed.

I was kind of devastated and the teacher I spoke with said if I applied with the money only hitting my account for a few weeks I would be denied.

He mentioned the whole sponsorship thing. So they just need 3 months worth of bank records from a family member who will sponsor you? Nothing else?

If you have the 500k you don't need a sponsorship letter. However if the consulate gets back to you and asks how you will support yourself, then you could consider supplying a sponsorship letter and bank statement from your parents.
