What should I do if I didn't receive a departure stamp when leaving Thailand, but my passport was scanned?

Hi question. Upon leaving TH, I didn't receive a departure stamp in my passport, however my passport was scanned. I was able to secure a re-entry permit. Does anyone have a similar experience? Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When leaving Thailand, it's common not to receive a departure stamp if you used the automatic departure control lane, as your passport is scanned instead. Other users shared similar experiences and reassured that they successfully departed without a stamp. If your passport was scanned and you hold a re-entry permit, there shouldn't be any issues. For future entries into Thailand, you might receive an entry stamp noting your previous departure through the automated system.

You don’t get a blue departure stamp when you get through the automatic gate to leave Thailand as Tod explained. When you enter Thailand next time you might get a red entry stamp with the indication that you previously left Thailand through the automatic gate.

I scanned out last thirsday and have multi re-entry permit. Don’t worry.

Earlier this year when they started scanning outgoing passengers I was not able to use the scanner. I was told it was because I had a multi re-entry. Seems they have worked out since then. Back on Friday 😊

The same thing happened to me last month and I was a bit worried. Thank you for the clarification!

If you went thru the automatic departure passport control lane you don't get an exit stamp,

BUT

if you handed your passport to an officer when you went to stamp out you most definitely DID get an exit stamp 🙂

It should be somewhere in the passport next to the previous arrival stamp (they try to pair them up)

Well not always,Tod... I came through DMK and handed my passport to the officer. She forgot to stamp it and I had to point out that minor detail to her 🤣

human errors happen but is highly unlikely because it's what they do all day long xD

An Immigration officer pointed me to a gate where I just need to scan my passport and take a photo. Do I need to be worried about this or am I off the hook?

nope you're 100% good,

that was the "automatic departure passport control lane", you're also correct you didn't GET an exit stamp.. but you'll get back in no issue, when you scanned it they put the exit into the database

That's a relief! Thank you!!

if you handed your passport to an officer when you stamped out (not when you got the re-entry permit) go thru the passport page by page and look for oval blue color exit stamp. Many times people don't notice where it was put
