I left thailand without getting a re entry permit. i did this before and when i came back to thailand they pulled me to the side for questioning and asked me alot of questions for about 2 hours before being let in on visa exemption. Im just wondering if i will have trouble again going through immigration at bkk because i didnt get a re entry permit again. I have a non ed visa from the first time leaving thailand and then a ed visa from the second time but lost this ed visa the second i left thailand without a re entry permit. what do u all think will happen at immigration when i go back?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user has previously left Thailand without a re-entry permit and is concerned about potential difficulties upon returning. They hold a non-ED visa and lost their ED visa upon departure. Comments suggest that they may face questioning or even denial of entry due to their history of leaving without proper permits. It is recommended to have documentation ready, such as proof of departure and sufficient funds, but the final decision lies with immigration officials.

Seems you arent a dedicated student, as you keep leaving, and that without making sure you can come back.

Unless you're a Thai citizen you have no right to enter the country, and can be refused at the border. Don't give them reasons to do that.

It's a courtesy to let people in, for tourism, or other purposes w visa.

always best to get a multiple entry permit when you do your extension

You lost *two* ed visas because of leaving without a re-entry permit??

Even with re-entry permits, immigration *do not* like people leaving while they're supposed to be studying. They've been known to deny people entry even with a letter from the school explaining why they're out of country during study time. Especially now; they're cracking down *hard* on Ed visas in a way they didn't before, because Ed visas have been abused so much.

You've now left the country *twice*, when you were here on the understanding that you were here to study. You were lucky to get back in the first time.

About all you can do is what Tod said - and if you get another ed visa, make sure you've learned your lesson regarding leaving the country without a re-entry permit.

Good luck.....

No one can say what will happen and that you did this before and were pulled aside doesn't bode well for your up coming entry.

You run a HIGH risk of being pulled aside, questioned and/or denied entry.

About all you can do is have proof you're leaving thailand in 30 days (the number of days you'll be stamped in for) have proof of funds 20K baht or the equivalent in CASH, and proof of where you will stay.

It will be up to the officer you're standing in front of at passport control whether you get in or get sent back out (on your dime)

No one on this group can tell you what will happen..
